well lets see most of you already know me so there's really not that much to say. I'm a 17 year old junior still going to high school ,but i'm about to graduate next year. My plans after high school are to go to a university and become a professional artist, and then later on I want to work as a model in New York probably. I'm half german and half Italian(BTW) The stuff i enjoy the most are kicking my sister's butts in videogames, listening to music, talking to friends "online", drawing, watching old episodes of my favorite shows and sleeping (only when its necessary ^^)

otherwise I don't know what else to say. I don't want to say too much so if you want to know anything else then just ask.:) (just not personal info:biggrin1:)

Oh btw, for the pisc, I don't know if you happen to have a scanner(or those all in one printer thingies) because the quality would be much better than a camera photo(since there's lighting issues and all).

thanks for the advice!!! My parents has one of those Printer/scanner all put in one. But really giving advice to each other would be really cool.

anyway Lets see what else can I say..........

I love playing videogames, listening to music, oh and at my school I'm taking this class called Jrotc. Its kinda of a military class ,but its really not that hard at all. The only fun thing you can experience out of it are going to military balls where everyone is dressed up in ballgowns and a whole bunch of other stuff. plus it covers my government credit so that I don't have to take it next year:biggrin1:

Ahh well then you can always use that scanner. Then I can maybe help give tips on digital adjusting, inking & coloring(like which programs and such :D)

I guess I could also critique a bit on the drawings themselves. The portraits are well made, though some proportions seem to be off. Do you draw directly the details or do you use a skeleton system? Putting an oval for the face would really help to conserve the overall proportions of the face. Eyes are at half of the head, nose at the other half and mouth at the last half(basically cut the oval in two for where the eyes should be, under that cut the remaining area in 2 for the nose should end and the final area left cut in 2 again for where the mouth should be).

Oh and Jrotc sounds pretty cool ^_^.

lol well unless it's a creative drawing class, it might not be necessary for her to mention it. I've done, painting, calligraphy, inking, pastel(wet & dry), sculpting and all other weird things in my art class so the teacher might not have time to overgo such details of one form.

Oh and the principle applies to full body figures as well if you intend on doing any. I can try and give you a model of one of those skeletons I use if you want. It really helps to see that your arm is too long before you draw all the details and such XD

Well how should I explain this.
All of this started when he asked me to be his girlfriend, I kinda got scared at first because I never really had one, but on the next day I was going to say yes to him until I found that he was flirting with another girl who's in the same class with me and him. I didn't talk to him for a few months and then all of a sudden he asked me again and I said sure as long as I tell my parents about it. It was fine until he started to ignore me and then after that I had people run up to me saying that he was hugging other girls and basically doing the same stuff over again. So i gave up on him and ever since then everyday has been the same.
But yeah at least your problems aren't complicated as mine. I'm terrible at this love thing.:(

No we're not together. But everytime I see him messing around with other girls, it just gets me upset because i think that its not fair. I want to blame myself too because I was too chicken to say yes right away ,but sometimes I'm kinda happy that I didn't.

Just be yourself and strive for your own goals and only date someone you are attracted to or have feelings for ;). Like others have said, he didn't know you very well and was asking you out, so your rejection couldn't have hurt him too much. Hugging isn't a big deal. lots of guys and girls alike flirt, doesn't make them a player or anything. I hug my guy friends all the time and mean nothing by it short of friendship.

Your art is pretty nice! Take some classes and really develop your skill and style. Your friend's art is very nice also!

it's good. i was #24 in my class out of 90 and that was considered pretty good... so yeah, yours would be very good :) Still, the rank is just you compared to the other students... says nothing for how well you yourself actually did ;)

Well ranks, R scores, and all the other weird systems country education systems sue is just a way to promote competition for that does bring out greatness in some people who in other instances might not have tried so hard ^_^

I did ok in high school and I'm getting my first R score this weekend so I'll know how "good" I'm doing compared to others lol :p

Don't stress too much about it though, just do your best and all should be fine. You're not going into medicine or law so competitive ranks aren't such a big formality for you :)

I'm actually in the same boat as you right now applying for college and what not =/ its hard but not all colleges will look at your rank :) some just focus on your grades and activities comparitively to others that apply lol they only schools that really care about rank are the ivy leagues and some of the other top schools O_O but if youre not looking to be a harvard law student or anything than you really shouldnt hafta worry so much :) cause its not really the kids at your school youre in competition with ^_^ its the other kids that apply =X

but dont worry :) you seem like a smart girl im sure youll be fine! ^_^

I'm actually in the same boat as you right now applying for college and what not =/ its hard but not all colleges will look at your rank some just focus on your grades and activities comparitively to others that apply lol they only schools that really care about rank are the ivy leagues and some of the other top schools O_O but if youre not looking to be a harvard law student or anything than you really shouldnt hafta worry so much cause its not really the kids at your school youre in competition with ^_^ its the other kids that apply =X

Some schools require SATs instead (though apparently a lot of the top schools have begun rejecting this method, finding it to be invalid) but most take ACTs and the first college I went to didn't even require that (was a business school, just had to take a mini-ACT like test). Don't stress out about the ACT. unless yous tudy a LOT, you can't do a whole lot about your score. And I'm sure the things you excel in, will show, and the things you struggle with but maybe still do well with, that will show aswell (which is what sucked for me since I do well in math with a good teacher and a lot of dedication but did poorly on the ACT). But the ACT is a very small part of your life and colleges don't place a LOT of importance on them, unless you're going for a big scholarship opportunity or a special school.

Probably u r not thinking this ahead but consider if you want to go into a college who consider themselves as a "research" college. I graduated from one and boy are they heavy on theory and not as practical in the job market. So from my experience these "research" colleges are more geared for getting you into grad school and less geared for getting you a job. Well if you get into a more technical major like engineering or technology that might mean less but beware of "research" schools...haha.

What matters most usually is your portfolio as well as the given competencies in what art domain you wanna go. At least, that's how it works here since I checked for an advanced Uni level visual arts program I wanted to take >_>.

I passed my officer's board test for JROTC so now i'm offically a 2nd lieutenant (that's the rank I earned). and today I got my papers to register for my senior year. (finally 1 more year then i'm finished......GRADUATION YAY!!!^^)

well, april 12th is coming up and I'm starting to get really nervous because of this ACT test that I have to take soon. Honestly, I have been studying for a while now and I have an okay feeling that I could pass it with the score that i need. The only problem is my mom, she is the only one in the family who has zero confidence in me. She believes that I should join the military instead of going to college.

I don't have any issues with the military ,but I don't think that its right for me. I really want to pass this exam ,but I'm so scared that I'll fail it and have the chance of going to college get ripped away from me.

Like blind said, confidence in what you know is a thing you need. If you start doubting yourself 24/7, how can you expect other people to trust you in life? :thumb:

Example: You go to the doctor and he tells you you have x disease and have take y treatment. Though there is always an element of doubt in these things, if the doctor himself/herself isn't showing confidence that he/she knows his/her stuff, then how are you supposed to feel? lol XD

Now study well and know your stuff, and have confidence basically ^_^. Otherwise, you'll start doubting what you know during the test and start panicking and getting stuff wrong. I speak from personal experience. Sometimes, I tend to mess up formulas & such because I doubted what I memorized/learned. :p

As for your mother, well I'm under the impression you should approach her about it. Seems as though she has a lack of confidence in you and it'd be nice to know why. Is it because you yourself are showing a lack of confidence so she's following on that? Or is it because of something else? You should confront her maturely and talk about it, not just nag in her face on how she doesn't support you. Try and find out why before trying to change things.

Personally i feel like neither one of you is right..its not like parents are always wrong and its not like they kno the answer to everything either. i think its more of a healthy medium in between, sure parents always want what they believe is in your best interest, but sometimes what you consider to be whats best for you and what they consider dont match up, and thats where you hafta make your OWN decision and do what makes you happy rather than doing something just cuz it makes someone eLse happy, and that goes for any other kind of relationship as well (siblings, friends, significant other) basically it comes down to listening to your parents but being independent enough to stand on your own as an individual person w.your own thoughts and feelings, if you can do that, then you should be good Imo :)

Also, from my personal experience, my mother was pretty wise with her advice, though I didn't like where she integrated religion into everything.

And just the clarify my (true) opinion; parents aren't always right, and they aren't always wrong, though people Itachi4ever's age like to believe parents are always wrong and I chose to amuse her further by agreeing with her. I'm sure she knew I was joking.

Another thing; parents mostly give advice, not proven facts, and what works for them doesn't necessarily work for everyone else, including their offspring. And they shouldn't force their ideas or opinions on their kids, instead they should just focus on raising them morally sound. Itachi4ever was just frustrated with her mother not having confidence in her, and as I remember from my younger days, parents' approval or confidence in you means a lot.

well, you are right that the ACT is easier than the SAT, or so the word on the street.

I looked up the score equivalents and a score of 23 on the ACT = a score of 1590 on the SAT... When I took the SAT i didn't study diddly squat and got a 1630 which is a 23-24 on the ACT so I'm sure you will do just fine, especially if you study.

The most important thing is not to stress out and like blind said, be confident in your abilities. If you start worrying too much it will just hurt you in the end.

Update- wow its been a while since I posted in here, lets see. Well, on monday one of the news stations from Tennesse came to our school to shoot a segment called "cool schools". It sounds kinda funny at first but apparently we got selected to be shown on t.v. (which aired yesterday) Anyway since I had JROTC as my first class, we had to put up a flag for the football field, while they were taping. After that we had to set up the rope bridge in the woods for another shoot. It was weird because the drill instructors and even the reporter tried it out, I didn't go because they raised it up so high, that and I wasn't wearing the right shirt lol, but honestly its really fun.

(hmm what else) Oh yeah I only have a week left until I'm offically considered as a senior and not only that but summer's just around the corner. Its kinda sad though because I'm getting so old and graduation is almost here for me. In september I'm planning on retaking the ACT test so I can get a higher score. Before I forget..... does anybody know on how I can get a better grade in English? I thought that was going to be the easiest section ,but I guess that I was wrong.

English usually requires reading comprehension and vocab. Brush up on your definitions and just, be attentive when you read the passage. I usually read the questions first and then skim the chapter for similar words, but that may not work for you... just don't spend too much time on any one passage

To raise your reading comprehension just read books, newspapers w/e and do the practice tests

Nope, I never had problems with English tests and stuff.... Math is a different story (don't like studying )

My vocab isn't the best, but I make up for it with reading comprehension.. so it kinda balances out.


Also, I don't know if I said this, but ACT is believed to be easier than the SAT so you should have no problem getting the score you want :thumb:

the "plus writing" isn't mandatory, its just something extra that you have to pay for. Its the same thing though, I heard that you have to write an essay and if its good then it raises up your english score.

Well, I talked to my teachers about that and they said "yes" they will take off points for leaving the questions blank so if you have any problems you just have to guess. But if your stuck on something and you still have time then yeah you can skip.

well, basically they're tests that you have to take if you want to go to college (university, law school etc.). However if you want to go to a technical school then you don't have to take it. The act (that's the one that I'm taking in september) is made up of 4 sections: reading,english, math, and science. its a timed test which really stinks because you only get a certain amount of time for each section, and the highest score that you can get is a 36. I don't know that much about the sat but the difference between them is that when your taking the act they don't count the answers that you got wrong only the stuff that you got right. But make sure you guess!!!

ACT and SAT are college admittance tests. You take them to get into universities... For Law school you also have to take the BAR (i think) and for Med School it's the MCAT

Kitty I don't think I told you. But I have actually been working on toning myself, ab lounge, gazelle, belly dancing classes to be an Import model parttime for my friends car club =D! I would only be "modeling" on cars for like..2 hours twice a weeks or something but hey!
