Chapter 488 Discussion

Well, 487 was a boring chapter. Anyone could have guessed his past was something like that. I guess it was just to king of fill in this week's chapter.

I think that the next chapter will be another chapter of them getting ready to leave. I wish they'd move on to the next arc already.

It definitely could have been better but I think the next arc will start within the next 3 chapters. Though it remains to be seen whether they go save Ace or go on to Merman Island.

It was obvious, but still damn awsome. A wonderfully done chapter.

At this point in time... Brooke will probably join the SHs and meet Laboon after they cross the Grand Line, probably easier than going back too.

This chapter could have been interesting if someone really wanted to see what Brook looked like when he was alive, which I myself didn't really care about ... Although i thought that he would be black, but ........ It was sad chapter though, Brooke putting his friends skulls in a coffin and all that ...

The chapter had its moments for sure- and sad at some points. But i am glad Brookes backstory isnt similar to the angst we felt in Robin. Nami, or Sanji's. And it isnt a long winded backstory. another good thing is he was already a pirate - the 2nd Mugiwara (i am sure he is one now :D) to be one from the beginning when introduced (Robin was one already - Nami was so much one rather a thief but we can argue she was. Sanji was with a retired pirate too).


Anyway, with the abysmal performance of Shadow Man shichibukai brookes story continues the trend of highs and lows. Typical OP. I predict this will lead into Luffy finally asking Brooke to be his Nakama- Again

When i read this chapter i was like "aha. fine. now on the next arc please". I hope they will try to rescue Ace. Anyway Brooke's background story being shown means that he will join the strawhats.

I think they will go to Merman Island first then go back to get Ace after they find out. It wouldn't be suprisng if Garp of Whitebeard tried to help Ace.

He's now in TB with Luffy and others, reminiscing the lonely past.
Brook opens up his skull, and pulls out a Sound shell (Sound dial)
He recorded music on it when the Rumba pirates were attacked by someone with poisonous weapon, and they figured they were all going to die... so Laboon can hear the Bink's sake song even after their deaths.

When Brook's singing Bink's sake with Luffy, he says:
Laboon...!
If you've been waiting there for 50 long years...
Can you patiently wait just a year or two more?

I have....
The pride of a Pirate too!
You wait for me facing the great wall...

So I want to reunite with you from the "front", just like I promised!

Brook's joining for sure.

So basically we have got a totally boring chapter on our hands. It sometimes feels like the mangaka has forgotten that there is a ongoing anime that always has a possibility of catching up no matter the gap.

Well it is good to know Brooke's goals anyway. Feels like we got our new Mugiwara cause i see no point of all this if he isn't going to join.

Pretty surprising arc, what looked like a short one jumped into a major story arc.

These "boring" chapters are still usually done quite well. I for one enjoy them. Chapter when Franky finally joined the crew made me laugh my ass off.
