This chapter seemed... Interesting. I didn't quite understand it since it jumped around a bit. I think the arc is going to fall back into Earl's hands. Also, I wonder what that secret mission is.

Yes you are right about the fact that a lot of things where happening in this chapter. But firstly about that egg i think that the generals will at least be able to at least damage it with an reasonble amount of damage, so that the Earl wil not be able to use it for an reasonble amount of time.
Secondly about that secret mission it will properbly be about still somehow try to save the egg from falling in to the Earl's hands without destroying it.
lastly i'm asking myself about what was meant with "the tragedy repeast itself" n the last page.
