Sequels...bad or good

I was wondering over all do you think second showings of a really good movie (just for example) are bad or they just keep getting better (like lord of the rings 1 2 3...good Matrix 1 good 2 and third...bad)

i like sequels. some are very bad (speed 2, LOTR 3, or Matrix three) but Leathal (sp) weopon (with mel gibson) Mad Max, and shrek are very cool. most times sequal is worse than first movie but many times it is still very good movie (for example shrek)

I think they actually made a filler between shrek and shrek 2 but i like it as a sequel...i saw it in universal orlando though...

It really depends on the movie.Like in the kill bill series, I liked vol. 2 better then vol. 1, but in movies like jurasic park and such the original is the best.

yeah. i hope (they are 13 dbz movies, i think 3 db movies, two DBZ specials and one DBGT special so we will have plenty of naruto i think :P )

spiderman 2 was pretty cool but the 2 matrix sequels basically sucked as movies

yeah that is kinda true.
maybe because first movies always ends with: and they lived long and they were very happy and they didnt have any problems.
it is hard to make sequels for this kind of ending :)
and disney's movies dont have realistic problems (most of the time) like in shrek (your wife's parents dont like you, they want to get rid of you. there is your wife's old boyfirend) :)

good point...

but I would guess that sequels are defined by their release dates. In which case (as you know, I'm sure) the LOTR movies all ended up being released, one after another.

Well that why they are called prequels and not sequels.

Blade 3 will hopefully be better than 2, and X3 and SpiderMan3 should be awesome...

X3 and SM3 are most likely gonna be awesome as for Blade 3 i dunno jessica biel she seems too much of that 7th heaven role but who knows she might play a good role. Oh i forget to mention Resident Evil: Apocalyse i cant wait too see that.
