New Dub

I just happened to watch OP at my friend's house, and guess what, they are right at the initiation of the Skypia arc, and there are new dubs.

I tried to look posively at it, and overall, I think it was fine. It also usually takes a few seconds for the dubs to sink in. The non-main characters sound pretty standard, but the crew, it sort of seemed like the Japanese voices were imitated (at least to me). Luffy's voice sounded a bit more girlish at parts, Sanji's voice was also more like his Jap counterpart, and Ussop too (not sure about this one... my memory is faint).

But Luffy's scream actually made me laugh, that surprised me.

I barely saw any if the ep, but the parts I did see sounded pretty good to me. It's kind of early for me to really judge it, not to mention I saw 10 minutes at most. But hopefully OP won't be a complete disgrace in America now...

I did watch part of OP last Saturday on CN and felt the sounds were different, I thought it was just me because I didn’t watch it for long time

Yeah they changed the voice actors. I tivo this bad boy too and it is very obvious if you watch the dub regularly. I personally didn't like the new dub actors at all. I thought they sounded really uncomfortable in their parts. I do think they have the same person doing Usopp though. His voice didn't really change

lol so many people were expecting those dubs to be awesome, but they turned out to be shit. Just forget the dubs and watch the subs.

I liked the new dubs better, the FUNimation dubs, because the DBZ voice actors took over.

Luffy > Gohan
Zora > Piccolo
Usopp > Krillen
Sanji > Tournament Announcer
Nami > Either Bulma or Chi Chi

not sure about Chopper or Robin tho
