Fillers is when the anime temporarily doesn`t follow the manga storyline any more because the anime nearly caught up to it. Naruto Episodes 136-220 are fillers and they usually don`t have the quality of the canon stuff.

You decide what you want to do. If you read the manga up to the latest chapters you just should be careful in the Naruto anime section because the local mod is watching for spoilers.

Don't worry about making the thread in the wrong section.. Cause I don't even think you can make a thread anywhere else than the New to the forums section yet.

I wouldn't read the manga further than the anime.. Got may reasons for it:

1. I'd get spoiled and wouldn't enjoy the anime as much.
2. Would be harder to discuss the anime since you have to separate the anime and manga, so it would just be a matter of time before you acidentally spoil.

What episode are you on right now?

And personally, I buy the manga, I don't read it online. I enjoy it more that way and it's impossible to get spoiled since the manga pockets/books are released way after the anime episodes.

Skip the fillers, don't skip the fillers. Your choice, maybe you should watch like, one or two filler arcs and then decide? There's actually a pair of good filler arcs.. but most of them are complete crap.
