The Naruto Shippuuden Anime has been dragging on so slowly (as of episode 26, "EDITED HERE"... Naruto still chasing Diedara/team guy fighting) I started to read the Manga. Anyway, the anime is about 3/4 of a Manga chapter in each episode - so for the sake of simplicity lets just say [1 Manga chapter = 1 Anime episode]. There's 1 episode every week and the Anime is currently on chapter 274. The most current Manga is chapter 366. 366 - 274 = 92. So it will take more than 92 weeks (2 years) to catch up to the Manga... I pray they start speeding things up becuase enduring this is worse than the fillers.

They could easily go with 1.5 chapters/episode. Even 2 chapters/episode still gives them 92 more chapters before the anime catches up. That might be enough to finish the series from what people are saying about the manga on other fansites.

Slow and steady makes for shitty episodes. 2 years to catch up will probably be the end of Naruto anyways. I mean Naruto really only has like 130-140 true episodes now. Another 92 should be able to finish the series.... unless they go on to something else after Akatsuki/Orochimaru stuff.. which would be pretty lame imo.

I think that manga is way ahead of the anime right now. Thats good cause they already started (hope last episode wasn't just an exception) to speed things up... If they continue as fast as episode 26, Naruto will blow away all competition.

There has been 2 episodes so far in Shippuden that have impressed me. That is the 1st and 26th episode. The rest were dragged out, stupid fillers with boring fighting scenes.

well, it depends cause what's coming up is gonna be pretty interesting from a manga reader's perspecitve, it all depends on what/how much is added by animators, cause this storyline is lagging in enthusiasm when they slow everything down to explain every little detail.
i've always said the manga was 95-100 chaps ahead, so the anime could afford to splurge with some 2 chapter episodes. and this title is wrong cause it doesnt take into account that there will still be manga chapters written as episodes come out, it would really be at least to 3 yrs!

and dont listen to rumors that naruto may be done, we still have ALOT of storyline left before everything is wrapped up. this last chap revealed something truly interesting tho!

Yeah I know what it is and am pissed off cause my friend always spoils me on what happens in the latest chapter and I don't wanna get mad in person cause whenever I do I always lose a friendship, which I haven't in a very long time hehe.

oh, at 2 chaps, yeah, i thought you meant at the current pace at a lil over 1 chap per episode. if it is 1 to 1, then there is no catching up, i maybe saw 2 shippuden episodes that covered 2 chaps. there were about 4 or 5 that covered less than 1! scary!

I agree. I haven't even watched naruto sinse episode like 20. I don't really like it. It doesn't give me the same feeling. It's not kishi's fault the anime is not the same. I think they don't know what there doing. I hope they get the pace going soon. I mean it doesn't have to be 2 chapters for 1 episode but at least make it good.:tsk:

I wonder how much Team Guy fighting and jumping from ledge to ledge they can cram in the next episodes to lengthen the show. Maybe they will all hear them fighting and dedicate a whole 5 mins for all members of Team Guy to each hear the sound :) lol.

Personally I skip a week here and there then watch 2 or 3 at one time. I think it's really being drawn out, pretty soon it will be like DBZ with 10 episodes of Goku and Vegeta standing in front of each other talking about nothing. (Yes I'm exaggerating, but it really did seem that way)

It's always been a bit similar to DBZ as far as flashbacks go. Both drag out episodes with a lot of flashbacks. Only difference is DBZ had flashbacks of past fights because no one gave a crap about the character's past. Where as Naruto does mostly flashbacks of the childhoods of the characters. I don't mind learning a bit of the person's past and why they are all messed up, but recapping the same flashbacks several times is too much. I don't need to see Sasori or Gaara as kids every episode until the fight is over.

I expect to be Naruto/Kakashi vs Deidara too, but knowing how all other anime where, It is more probable that next ep will be all about Guy/Lee/Tenten/Neji.
And maybe at the end will be little about Naruto/Kakashi.
