im not sure what its called
i saw this on another forum, it looked interesting, but i wasnt sure if it sounded gay or not >.<

you can also donate points to other members, put them in a bank and stuff like that. buy gifts for other members, change the way your username looks, and etc...
I thought this would go great with the SOS thing, since people have shops and things. well people can pay with points and earn points doing missions or whatever (i dont know)
maybe a section for shops outside of the SOS section for people who arent the sos players(im sorry i couldnt think of any other way to word it)
i hope you guys will consider this ^-~

They have something similar on advent-children.net.
You get gil for every post, and you can donate it to other members. And buy stuff from the shop.

It's a cool idea the only problem is, like Octo said, we will get a lot more spammers...
EDIT: Wait I remember... On the site I was trying (XD) to set up ages ago there was a setting to have the number of points you gain limited every hour. Say you could only arn points from a maximum of 15 posts every hour or something...

I'de say it would be more section specific.
People rate your posts, and if it has a possitive rating you get points for it.
If it has a negative rating, you don't.
If its in any of the spamzones - you dont get points.

Well rating posts on one hand could force people to be more serious in what they write and at least give some thought or do some research before they post. On the other hand it could ruin the forum cause some people may just write what the others would like to hear and they would be more sceptical before posting a more radical or risky opinion.
im sure theres someway we could prevent more spammers >>
you could lose points by spamming in threads that arent in the spamzone area

It is. bleachportal.net forums have a rep system and they use vBulletin.

you guys do have a point but we do delete most spam on this NC via restarts and spam usually isn't tolerated on manga and anime threads. so we can kinda leave it be

I am not referring to spam threads but actual spam in other threads. Even now there are still people posting stupid one line lame jokes and stupid comments.
A money system is just going to take that overboard. A reputation system relies on rewarding those who make intelligent posts.

Anyways,I think if we make the rules stricter and put a 24 hour ban on those who make stupid 1 word posts it should balance things out. >_> And make people more scared to post ridiculous topics,and if they do it again double it,and if they keep on being stupid a permaban. I've seen this done before. ^-^;;

Well the no-cursing rule is to evade constant flaming since some people tend to be a bit too into what they're discussing/debating. Not to mention cursing over the internet serves little purpose >_>
As for the reputation or point system, can't say I'm for or against them. I wouldn't really do anything if it were implemented but if the admins decide to put it, then so be it, I'll live ^^

A reputation system is probably not going to represent actual reputation (and how shall that be measured anyway) but how many people like you or dislike you for whatever reason. Post count and ranking system are enough. Everything else is unnecessary.

For christ sake, stop saying its for pokemon forums. You have any idea how irritating that is. I've seen point systems in all sorts of forums, even the H type. Not just forums for little kids. -_-;;
Also, mimi , I don't know exactly how it was set up, but I remember being able of stealing points, and getting more features like editing the color of your name and stuff after getting enough points. >_> I had a small amount compared to others, but I still had a lot even if I didn't post. o_o Of course the point system was just something extra, and that is all it was.
And for Godsake, we already discussed this to death, I'm pretty damn sure the admins decided not to have a point system. -_-;;
