Seems like N is just falling into light's traps left and right. L was so much better then N.

I think that the way N is so cleverly figuring things out so easily is actually a disservice to L. The writers are making this far too easy, and making Light seem far too careless.

For instance

why would Light get rid of the cameras? what would justify this? Also, the whole notebook thing, if they were to bring new notebooks, why not just use them instaed of using the ones present and replacing them?

ya, things do get a bit more simple. I think its a testament to N. I mean, he is using the previous L's information and probably trusts his judgement. Upon realizing that the two rules were fake he was able to fully focus his attention on Light only. The camera thing I dont fully understand...

I have a feeling that Light isn't going down that easily, don't rule him out yet, we know what hes capable of.

EDIT: in regards to the small discrepancies we are facing with Nears knowledge etc, you should read the manga up to the current point in the anime(just read up to it starting at L's death myself). I think due to the episode limit, the anime is a little bit cut out, the manga explains how Near gets to his conclusions a little better
