Well if I found a deathnote I would definately use and not like the stupid way it was used in the manga.I thought it was really dramatised.

If I want to make the world a better place then I will kill all the bad guys that are harm to the world including Bush(I will possibly kill him while he is on his ranch walkin his dog:)).

And if I want to rule the world I would just make my works public and try to win favourable vote (only half is enough ) by killing the bad guys like Osama bin Laden and stuff like that.That will give me more favours than the president.And if police tries to go against me I will tell them if you dont stop following me I will kill the president and stuff like that you know.

if i was evil:

find out bodyguards name of prime minister of iran. easy stuff. just kill famous person who have access to that information. some minor general. make him write the name, attach the picture and send the email to you.

Eh, easy to say high6, but it would be a hell of a lot harder to do. Bush dies then Cheney gets in power (since he is VP), and if you dislike bush, you would hate Cheney, and probably would kill him too. Then I'm sure there are other politicians you really don't like...you have to think about hthe consequences of your actions, and once you have power, it is hard to give it up.;)

As for me, if I had a DeathNote, I would probably fall into the same trap Light did. I would probably try to help the world somehow, and that would be the first problem. Oh well

Well i think i would make the deal with the eyes anyway :) I dont want to live forever. I dont think i would kill any of todays politicians, i mean whats the point? Its very tempting, but someone else equally bad will take their place just after them. I dont believe that history can change by one man. I mean even if Hitler was assasinated before WW2, the war would still take place i think, but yeah he definetely would worth put him in the Death Note, propably you would save a lot of lives that way. Now my ex girlfriends new boyfriend...I would be really tempted to put his name in my death note and write some things he would do before die, but dont know if i could do it.

snakeeys. I'll disagree with you. Even the smallest things can change the outcome, according to chaos theory. Killing someone will change history.
whether the outcome will be better is completely different thing.

and if you have death note... you will shape the history (but again... you can't be sure whether it will be desired change)

I like your answer. It's probably my favorite one to be honest.

There are a LOT of corrupt police out there and the whole justice system is effed up. From my personal horrible experiences with police (as a victim), I was treated as a criminal and interrogated for 6 hours while the criminals were slapped on the wrist and told "don't do it again!" It's a sad world.

But yeah corrupt police and people who hurt/kill/abuse women and children. I just think that's unforgiveable.

Of course there are women and children out there that are completely INSANE and abusive themselves, but I still can't picture many scenarios where hitting, killing, or abusing a woman or child or woman in any way would be "justified".

If I had the death note... I wouldn't go after ALL criminals, or just those reported. I would probably attempt to target only those guilty of haneous crimes described above. And then I'd also target corrupt police and detectives. I wouldn't just kill by heart attack though. I'd be more creative, especially with the criminals or with incredibly corrupt cops that may as well be criminals. Can't say I'm so good of a person that I wouldn't use the death note. Though, at the same time, there are a lot of people I don't want in the world, but I wouldn't just kill them all either.

haha "better" isn't necessarily the best word but generally men are better able to defend themselves than women or children. There are always exceptions to everything, and unlike many perspectives in Death Note I don't see things or people in black and white, good and evil. There are gray areas, and I think only few cases where there is purely good or purely evil. If it were a defenseless man as the victim, I would bring on the same punishment. And when I said women and children as victims, I should have also included: seniors, handicapped, or those generally unable to defend themselves.

The thing I didn't like about Light was that he became bigheaded and sought to gain power and domination through the notebook instead of sticking to his initial purpose to make a more peaceful world. And even without that bigheadedness, there would still be the fact that HE was the one passing judgment and you can't possibly grasp a situation based solely on the crime and name+face alone. Also he killed a lot of innocent people.

Ideally, I would use the death note in a purer fashion, but I would face this same problem. Not knowing the people involved or the exact details of the crime and aftermath, who the hell would I be to judge? Who the hell would I be to judge anyway? So unfortunately while ideally I would probably hope to wipe the earth of all of these people, I probably would only follow through with those I was certain committed the crimes and committed them with no just cause (i.e. being attacked first, accident, etc.).

Come to think about it... I think I would be a lot like Light, but not so arrogant and definetly keep a low profile.

No offense, lol. Death Notes only work on humans. I have no clue what I would do. Though if I kill anyone it's not going to be from the heart attack option, too suspicious. I'll make them either jump of a building or get hit by a car or fall down the side of a cliff or something...

Actually the Lights thinking isnt something new. And yes it can be justified.

What most people do nor realize is that the mono-political world is controlled in the exact same way Light intends to control his. But the difference in his and our world is that he intends to do it without the cost the people who's ideals are the same as his pay.

The biggest letdown in this series ( DN ) is were when Near and L mention justice. In my opinions someone as smart as L shouldn't make one of the biggest fallacies known in philosophy. This makes you think that real immature people in these series are those who rise against Kira ,implying that his way of justice is evil and wrong , Somewhat resembles the ignorance we live in and how none logical our reasoning is ( Near´s response to Light reasoning ).

Kira isn't just for the western world its for everyone. They say "Fight fire with fire". I say fight ideals with ideals and the one who comes out on top is the current world justice. Could Kira´s action even be considered evil at the point he died?

Just like Light said our worlds "justice" is burned into our kids at young age and even if their mind will question it they soon realize they cant change it.

Kira could be law.

In our days words such as "terrorists" and "True Evil" are starting to appear everywhere. The words describe people who we fear. The fear is used to control us. Rather than agreeing to disagree we struggle to pass down our own justice. We burn it into our kids and we meet opposition we crush it. We are shown pictures of horrible things to make the fear and hate grow yet the things we see are but our doing - But do we realize it?

1/6 of the world controls the rest of it? Doesn't that sound strange to you?

Kira could shape justice. In the way it should be done -

Kira’s phenomenalism can be used only if the bearer of DN is unknown,if people don’t understand the nature of it. They must think, that Kira is supernatural, unseen, unknown force, only then, Kira can become God/Justice/Truth. So, he will never be ordinary politician, president and e.t.c. If he reveals himself, he’ll lose important part of his “divine” power. The power to shape justice without the sacrifice of is subordinates.

To unite the world under 1 ideal can only be done by divine power.

I personally don't consider a rich person better off than me, I live a very happy and prominent life. But I feel that people with wealth should feel obligated to help those with out. And not once a year for a tax break here and there. Stealing billions when you have millions is just WRONG, not clever. Satan was clever to trick Adam and Eve to eat the apple, but they were wrong in gods eyes for eating it. I make a very nice amount of money, and If I'm in a store line and someone askes for a subtotal, then has to put things back because they don't have enough.. I will typically will give them enough money to get their items.

I think you misread what i meant, I would kill corrupt police. Those with the power the to uphold justice should never abuse it under any circumstances.

I could go into my beliefs and religion, but I don't feel it would be appreciated or understood. You clearly think you have the key to the keep on the issue so what's the point? But I'm not arrogant or selfish. I wouldn't punish people who were bad to me through out my life, nor would I commit genocide on every politician/police officer/rich person etc.. just open the general population's eyes and make them think twice about what they're doing. Force them to think "What would Kira do?". People today tend to lean away from doing the right thing in all factions of their life simply because they're selfish or just don't feel like doing the right thing. They don't tend to want to do the right thing unless there are serious consequences to their actions and that's what I would seek to change among the groups I singled out. Why? Because those groups shape the world. I would also throw media mogles in the mix as well.

Um,there is a real that states that the maximum amount of time a person can live when his name is written is 23 days... the best you can do is make a shinigami whos life span is 2000 years make it fall and love and let it protect you in the moment you are gonna die....then its life-span shall be added to yours (half of its life span i think or was it the whole i chose 2000 to be safe)

If i found a Death Note, I would prolly use it for laughs and giggles. Use it here and there, or against people I really hate or something. I wouldn't try to do something like Light and kill all the criminals in the world or something that ambitious. Light was awesome though.

It would be kind of funny though to throw some random country into chaos for no reason by killing all the leaders of it.
