while some series, you can watch the raw and get the picture, something like deathnote its pretty much impossible seeing how about 75-80% of an average episode is dialogue(of course, AWESOME dialogue)

this episode should be good... i predict we are seeing the beginning of the end for Light though. hopefully, if Im right, he puts up a valiant fight.

WOW, great Episode. So many turns and twists, now Kira has a person doing the work for him. I love it. L's Partners are always so confused.

Awesome episode, near came with an awesome plan for escaping plus Aizawa kinda turning against light and calling near to give the info pretty nice.

Too good. Too good. Great episode, Near is a real champion, but Light has put up the barrier yet again. Picked a good guy to do the work too, completely separated from suspicion... unless Near tracks hi down
Looks like Light is going to be greedy and attempt to contact the new Kira. Probably going to be his downfall :P

He selected him didn't he? Im pretty sure he(he being light) gave him the notebook on purpose so that even if his chick and him were being watched it wouldn't matter because the new guy is going to be doing the killing now.

haha kidding obviously, but near is badass... I would say smarter then L... Mello isnt nearly as smart but his spontaneity fills in Near's character gap. Imagine if they worked together. It would be the apocalypse for Light...

alright. Im just venting anger. Just don't be a ass it doesn't make friends and its why I left for little bit and its also why I probably will leave again.
And Steve I agree I think Near is smarter then L but lacks what mello has, mello isn't as smart but hes street smart and isn't worried about people getting hurt for him to reach his ultimate goal, which is getting kira first.
I wouldn't say Near is smarter than L. He got spoon-fed a lot of information that L had to figure out on his own. L was going head-to-head with Light more. He fake rule, Light changing the owner of the DeathNote. L had a tough time.

Good lord, I love Death Note.
I'm a manga reader and I have to admit my initial reservations towards the anime.
Till now, it still continues blowing me away with fantastic pace and superb editing, shredding away unnecessary details and string it into a fast paced, comprehensible 20 minute show.
Two Thumbs up to the animators

light is the man woot untouchable and unstoppable great twist at the end with kira`s handpicked right hand man he looks bad ass cant wait for the next ep also it looks like he already made the trade for the eyes heh

it really upset me that L. knew at the very end even before kira had rem write down his name in the death note, that yagami light was kira.... he kept saying this is it for me on that episode... and finally realized it was yagami light when he was about to die...
near literally needed to be spoonfed information from L and Mello in order to figure out that yagami light had anything to do with kira.... hes more like mentally retarded... seriously he lost almost his entire crew the minute mello found a death note... seriously if it had been kira that had found those names kira would have figured out were near was hiding before hand and would have trapped near a lot quicker... but still loosing almost ure entire crew in one swoop and not even attempting to keep there identities secret... not even from mello... wow fucken retarded... and now his building was found out... and in an unrealistic attempt to make the mob go away he let out 10 million dollars which could have been used more effeciently... like getting near laid... great job near, ure making the name of L look more retarded every single day...

same... however would have been smarter for near to use fake bills rather then real ones authorized by the US... considering the US has already surrendered to kira... he could have gotten access to this formt he president in his down fall...

yeh, he could have, and realistically it wouldve been smarter, but I think in this case the author was willing to let this slide in the intellect department in order to get the full effect of his message across
