nah mate it was a third tome. but he does have some strange abilities now - like poping in naruto's subconcious and this situation with oro. all leans towards the fact that he maybe ready to obtain it now through kakashi's method whatever that may be.

when sasuke fought against haku, he got two tomoe's.

then when sasuke and naruto fought at the valley of the end, he got his 3rd tomoe, and was able to predict all of naruto's movements.

the mengekyou sharingan is a step further than that. (a very big step.)

Sasuke's sharingan almost tunred into the M.S at the en dof the fight while he was fighting with Naruto.but Sasuke extremely strong with the Sharingan now able to resist Oro the same way itachi did when he took his body.oh to clear things up Itachi showed no signs of using the M.S on Oro it was just an advanced genjutsus

back to Sasuke, what drove Sasuke to go beserk and beat Oro, Simply to measure his Power, since he found out that Itachi had an encouter with oro and defeated him.

As far as we know AL could be a visionary respected by his followers. There really isn't any evidence yet that he's a shinobi. Though I admit he probably is, I'm just stating it's really too early to consider anything about him apart from his motives.

Actually didnt he awaken the sharingan agaisnt haku, he didnt have a complete 2.
It was around the chuunin exams he got the second complete.Then the third when he fought naruto.

I guess him knowing how to rip out a bijuu, and sealing it would not make him a nin too huh??? or candidate for a really knowledgable one!

Youre right, theres absoulutly no evidence that would make you think that he was a nin. Hes a crippled diplomate, that the others cant help but be drawn to his magnetic and commanding personalities and views!

Sasuke received his first level of Sharingan against Haku. However, his first level was 1 tomoe in one eye, and two in the other. I believe he achieved 2 tomoe in each eye while training with Kakashi for the chuunin exam, then completed the Sharingan evolution while fighting Naruto. The tomoes can differ in number between the eyes.

edit- I could be wrong about exactly when he achieved 2 tomoes in each eye, because honestly I don't remember when we first see it.

i think its more of an emotional release thing. each time saskue has developed another tomoe of his sharingan its been in an extremely difficult battle were emotions run high.

so my guess is the last form needs something monumentally emotional like killing ur best friend or somet similar.

I didn't know he could block all of naruto's motionsin the battle of the end because he got a third tomoe. I thought it was the curse seal mixing with sharingan. Whenever he uses cs1 one of his ees gets kind of a strange red, like te sharingan but different. But hey what do I know I saw the anime.
