This is for newbs who just started to watch (I haven't seen yet)

What is your opinion and how it compares to Naruto first ep or Bleach's?

I liked one piece's 1st episode but i didnt like it as much as Naruto's. it was a little close to but still less than Bleah's first episode.

And of course-- sine this is a new section, old one piece fans must populate here before the new ones may even notice the section is interesting.

I haven't seen One Piece yet, but since a lot of people are watching it it seems to be good. I might download it when I get home.

I actually wasn't a fan of the whole first arc. And of course all new anime have to start with low animation, but just wait until like episode 12 or something when they fight Kuro. From then on you should be hooked, and by the end of the Arlong arc you should never want to stop.

Lol, just for reference, they change the animation style in the Skypeia arc, which is about episode 200 or so.

edit: I am watching episode 1 as we speak now, it seems ok but I was expecting the coloring/drawing to be more like something like naruto or bleach, oh well it doesn't subtract much because the drawing is still good.
And may I know which episodes are the fillers?

edit2: Episode 1 was ok, looks like the ending is leading to the real thing ;)

Yeah the character design is definitely different from Naruto and Bleach. (I've only seen a few videos though.)

The OP animation style kinda turned me off at first but afer a while i grew used to it and actually started liking it, the only thing i dislike is the animators unwillingness to fully animate fights, man i felt ripped off with Sanji's fight against Gin(that guy with the two baton like weapons with a huge ball at the end) i wanted to see them go at it so bad:mad:

last arc I watched was the one with the fish men, where I was, Luffy had his feet in the ground and was drowning, when the girl got his head, streched it so it gets out of water so he can breath, that's about where I was...I think Usop was doing something, but I don't remember what...

Just watched episode 2 and I am pretty much into this now. It is pretty much like full metal alchemist. So if you like full metal alchemist, you will probably like One Piece as well.
I still want to know which episodes are the fillers.

edit: Just watched episode 4. If I am predicting correctly, off this episode I think I know what is going to happen in the future. If I am right then that will be one kickass storyline/anime. I am looking forward to watching the rest of this series. Btw that nami girl is hot.

Just watched Episode 1, I give it an "Okay". Not many anime's get 10/10 for the first episode. Going to continue watching now! :)

I need time to get used to the Character Design though.

Episode 2: Wow, I'm starting to like it! When Luffy is smiling he reminds me of what's his name, the guy who got Edward's Arm and Leg, I believe it was their Sensei's child. (Full Metal Alchemist) Zoro seems interesting too.

Episode 3 now.

Wow, it looks like it begins for "real" now. Going to smoke fast then continue watching. It was a lot better than I thought!

I only can recommend this anime, next to Naruto and Bleach this is my favourite series, OP has an own kind of humour and the world is unique. Just keep watching :)

Seriously, I'm really shocked/surprised that I actually liked it. Since I've seen some videos and didn't like the character design etc. etc.

I thought that One Piece was directed to 6-10 year olds (Maybe it is? -_-)

I liked the first episode but with Naruto if my friend hadn't have pushed me to keep watching I would have stopped because I really didn't like the first episode of Naruto but One piece was good. :D

True, my cousin was watching Naruto and back then I was one of the "Anime watchers are gay geeks" types. He convinced me to watch atleast two episodes so I did. This was during the Chuunin Exam, Forest part. After that, well it speaks for itself since I'm here doesn't it?

Haha, showing the best and action episodes of an anime to a "nah I do not want to watch it" is the best way to change their mind ;)
I did it to my brother and about 3 other friends and it worked 100% on all of them.

The first episodes are ok, but that pink hair guy is just plain ugly. It annoyed me compared to the first episodes of Naruto where the kids didn't seem that gay.

But the first episode of Bleach is a strong start, I liked it a lot.

The only thing that bugs me is that the end of One Piece seems very, very far from me. I'm at episode 33 and I'm not planning on catching to the current episodes soon...

Since that Anime is purely entertainment, I guess I'd better watch a few episodes per week, watching them by batch annoys me because of the many flashbacks and obvious outcomes.

I pretty much had some doubts for this anime but since narutochaos actually had another 'anime' board (it rarely happens! only the good animes so far deserved its own board in narutochaos! like full metal alchemist and bleach) I decided one piece should be good because of this. And it is true.

I guess it is safe to say, whenever you see narutochaos having its own anime board for another anime, then that anime will probably be really good. We already have a board for bleach and full metal alchemist, and they both rox our sox.

Not only did that made me watch one piece, but seeing everyone's opinions from this anime saying it is really good backed it up more. And I had to make sure you were all mature and older than at least 15 that was making these 'good' opinions about the anime, :p!

I was born and raised as an anime watcher in this board for so long, I know whats up ;)!

But if you want to watch it one after the other --why dont you start downloading them now so that when you are ready there will be no interruption.

Download as much as your resources can handle and watch them. When that is done then you continue. That may include even saving them onto CDs or DVD if you can.

Remember there are 302 episodes out so far.

opinion about first

did grab my attention. it was not as strong as bleach or hellsing (well, probably there won't be cooler first episode than hellsing one)
but it was very funny

the style. takes few eps to get used to but the anime itself, so far is highly unpredictable.

made me watch second one immediately and this is a good thing. naruto failed to do that (it needed 2 ep to grab my attention)
