[DeathNote Manga] Worth it? (Spoilers)

Was I the only one completely disappointed with Death Note's anticlimatic ending? I hated Nate so I was annoyed that he won overall (I think he did anyway, it's been quite a while since I read the manga). But seriously, that cheesy final bit after a year timeskip, was it really necessary? What did you guys think of the ending to the manga?

Oh!! i am sure you will find a whole lot of fans still disappointed. i got disappointed even when the Inuyasha Anime (which was somehow better than the manga) ended. Why not DeathNote.

I shook my head for a long time at the way it did but i honestly have gotten over it. I always hoped there was going to be a second version. But it never happened.

I have seen a fanfic one, can't remember where I saw it, but it involved Raito dying, going to the Shinigamis world, and given the compulsory sentence of every Death Note owner which is to suffer the deaths of everyone he killed. Which means for every heart attack he dealt, he has one in the Shinigamis world, dies, gets resurrected, has another and so on etc. Raito then asks Ryuk a bit about the leader of all the Death Gods and says hes going to fight him, then it ends. Quite interesting, I prefered it to the actual ending.

I was also super dissapointed with the ending, but i knew deep down it was gonna end something like that. Though i think it was a little too easy for Near and Mellow...

But i wonder if there could be something better, like Light actually winning...

But I was wondering, we saw some Kira fans at the end, and Misa seemed to be like the Leader, it was looking like she had the Shinigami eyes, you think she did have them or not?

But heh, about the ending, i was like laughing the shit out of myself XD!! i mean i got really mad when L just died, i almost though its obvious like everything, good guy lives bad guy dies so i was in a shock when L was killed D: but i just figured out i wasn't clear who really was who, anyway its cool Kira lost against Near ^^ WOOOT!!

When Light died at the end, I wasn't surprised, he was soppose to die after all. Ryuk told him when they first met that when Light dies, that it would be done by his hand, so Ryuk was planning to kill him anyways once he got bored with Light. One thing that would had been cool was, that we see what happens to LIght when he dies because he can neither go to heaven or hell.

The ending got a bit too draggy, esp how they fiddled with the notebook like that. Kinda chaotic, if I were to put a word for it.

Disappointing, and the length for the series was too stretched out

I dislikeed near, If anyone shoulda caugt Light it shoulda been L , even if he had to get ressurected or there was a corny "My death was an act!HAHA!".If L wasn't gonna do it Light shoulda just won, specially since Near sucked ass.

I just started watching the anime, downloading first episode now, will download first ten and then watch at a go, see if it does justice to the manga like some say it does...

most of the stuff at the end confused me... well it was a manga marathon that night and i assumed for a while that light gave away his only notebook to teru, so when near asked that he bring the notebook to the meeting i thought "oh shiz he's screwed... and i need sleep" or words to that effect.

how did they get the real notebook anyway? it wasn't quite clear to me how they attained it when teru was using a fake one.

I didn't really like the end because it showed how much of a coward and stuff that Light was. I didn't mind the fact tht he lost, actually that was good but I dislike the way they made him get all frightened and stuff of dying. I did like how ryuuku killed him though.

To me the end had alot of ups and downs but in the end I think yeah I was disappointed with it. Never the less, most of the story as brilliant.

I'm back btw, but yeah I was utterly dissappointed. Hell, I was mad when L died, sure it was logical but I found L to be superior to near.
