I am not positive of this but somwhere in the manga I remember Jiraiya saying the 4th had mastered all EIGHT levels of Rasengan, does anyone else remember him saying that? I'm too lazy to go back and look at all of the chapters and find where he says that, if he does at all.

im pretty sure that there were only three levels of the rasengan that the Fourth created and that it took him three years to do it. Its been a while since i read it though...

As mentioned before, Naruto's rasengan is still on the third stage - whereas there is a total of 8 stages. <--- Quote from the Rasengan vs Chidori thread. I guess thats all the proof I need.

I don't know as long as the rasengan kick ass.

eight stages huh? i think that naruto still needs to work on his rasengan by using only one hand

<------- Has been reading Naruto manga online for the past two weeks for 10 hours each night.
Rawr. O_o; I remember Jiraiya saying that there were 8 levels of Rasengan and it took the 4th 3 years to master it. I'll post a link to a manga page if I can find it.

Yer he really needs to work it with one hand otherwise any ninja can see it coming when he does 1 kage bushin no jutsu.

If there 8 levels of it and he is on #3 then he didn't master...But there are 3 lvls took 4th 3 years 2 create...

even if there are only 3 levels...naruto has yet to master rasengan.

Y is that he uses enuf he mastered it or do u mean that he can't use it 2 its full potential yet???
Amatsu Mikaboshi
08-28-2004, 04:38 AM
he hasnt masterd it cause he needs a bushin to do it, while jiraiya can do it with one hand.
Super_Pervert

but wouldn't that be adding on 2 the skill like u know how 2 use the chirodi but u can't put one on each hand, really bad example..

so you think naruto has "mastered" rasengan because he does it a different way, is that right? he is a "master" of rasengan because he uses a bushin to do it.....i would think a "master" of the technique would be able to do it with one hand instead of being completely incapable of doing it without the bushin.

I think he has mastered the tequnique just hasn't expanded upon...
Yondaime

yeah tsunade gave him the necklace.... she gave him it cos he mastered rasengan. and u ugys are confused with the 8 lvls thing. jiraiya says taht there are 8 lvls off difficulty for jutsus, and rasengan is on the 6th or 7th level
skyz69
08-28-2004, 01:49 PM
yondy's right abt the levels of difficulty for jutsus, rather than for rasengan!

i dont think jiraya has fully masterd it he must only be level 7 and naruto is like level 5 or 6 then the level 8 is a giant one that kicks everyones A$$

I agree with Yondaime, Rasengan is one of the most difficult jutsus, and Naruto hasn't mastered, but he will sometime..

u dont get what i mean... there are 8 dificulty levels for jutsus.... like bushin no jutsu is at level 1. rasengan is at level 6. i have no idea what is at lvl 8... but it must be a super jutsu like the tsukyomi and ameratsu.

OK!
So I think that naruto didn't master the rasengan fully cause he still needs to use two hands instead of one...but the bunshin thing is a good idea cause what happends if your other hand is damaged? or something like that. Then the bunshin thing will come in handy...but I still think he needs to master it one handed. But at his level I think at least doing the rasengan...well something close is really amazing especially at his age and the amount of time he spent mastering it.

yup, said yondy was right quite some time back...
just some things... if your hand is damaged how are you going to perform the seals for a kage bunshin... but yeah if they are out already, why not...
my theory, based on the area of effect of jiraiya's jutsus and his performance despite tsunade's poison, is that jiraiya has a lot of chakra . recovers it fast.
which is why only he and naruto can perform rasengan. training with it exhausts all your chakra, and to recover it will take time.
which means that the lower your chakra potential/recovery speed, the longer rasengan training will take... while naruto can do 100's of practice rasengans a day, shika, for eg, might only be able to do 2. which means he will take 50 times as long, if at all.

he hasnt masterd it cause he needs a bushin to do it, while jiraiya can do it with one hand.
didnt he only use the bunshin when kabuto hurt his arm or sumthing? before that i think he does it without
Amatsu Mikaboshi

he never did it before that.

he mastered it people of the naruto world. because he was able to understand the principle behind rasengan. although he needs to polish it. like every jutsus there is.

He should be able to do it using one hand, since he needs a bushin to create/balance the chakra it is a clear sign he hasn't mastered it yet. You should be able to create it in your hand without much effort, and besides you should be able to use rasengan on both hands since jiraiya could focus chakra (like the rasengan) on both hands as an example for naruto when he showed him step 3.
Just because you can 'use' something doesn't mean you have mastered it. For example, sasuke can use the sharingan but has he mastered it? Nop :)

09-04-2004, 03:31 AM
Yeah...
Just needs to work on it to get better at it and learn something new out of it. Like naruto for rasengan he needs to try and learn to do it with one hand. Sasuke sharingan...he has to do whatever itachi can do.

well it this topic goes down to this. the definition of "master" is relative.

WHAT IS THE LIMIT on RASENGAN? How many can he do in one day?
Sasuke can do 2 Chidori... hwo many Rasengan can NAruto do?
in teh current fight, he used Rasengan once already... but he still has alot of chakra after he used it... and now with the Chakra from Kyuubi, he should have more power to do more Rasengan???
Amatsu Mikaboshi

i think naruto could do rasengans all day.

he hasnt masterd it cause he needs a bushin to do it, while jiraiya can do it with one hand.
didn't he do his rasengan alone on the roof when he first fought sasuke (and when kakashi stopped the fight)??

Thanks Sky... hmmm... when NAruto learns something, he doesn't always do it perfect... Like summoning and Rasengan... practice makes prefect...

naruto doesn't need a clone to perform the rasengan, when he fought kabuto it proves it. His 1st attempt to do it, he was doing it on his own but kabuto was easily able to dodge, the reason why he used a clone was because he was using one hand to hold kabuto, and naruto needs both hands to be able to do it, which was why the clone was created, to assist him. And he did again do it by himself on the roof top against sasuke. So no, he does not need a clone, he just needs two hands to perform it, thats all. He still needs practice on it however, the perverted hermit can create 2 at one time, 1 in each hand :D

this is the manga section, so... the 3 times we've seen naruto do a properly powerful rasengan, incl the recent one against sasuke, was with a bunshin. the one he created against tsunade, and the first one against kabuto, did not just miss, but the explosions were a lot smaller than the bunshin versions.
that suggests that he does need a bunshin to do a fully powered rasengan.
however, i already admitted in the anime section, that i guess there is no way i can know for *sure* either way. having done it thrice with bunshins doesnt mean he can't do it without. he might just prefer the three-hand version!

What i think is most logical is that Naruto will learn how to use the Rasengan eventually cause i don't think he's mastered it yet just cause u can do it doesn't mean its mastered. At the beginning naruto sucked with kage bunshin no jutsu his limit i think kakashi said was a minute but now i think his control and skill in kage bunshin is higher maybe because of practice. Narutos summoning has gotten better from a tadpole to a small frog so im sure if naruto keeps doing rasengans he'll be able to master it and i think readers will actually be able to see his progress.

I think its cool when he does it with Bunshin...
that way when they complete the Rasengan, with 3 hands... he can use the Clones that were used to create the Rasengan to run to the opponent and keep then still... so u can't miss... eh?
Naruto is still young, he cna't do everything perfect... even if he's an anime character... they have to make it someone believable and realistic.

Yah but didn't naruto use the reasngan without any clones when he was fighting sasuke? could of sworn he did...
